Jim is without doubt one of the brightest prospects of the UK scene at the moment.
London, Russia, Brazil, Dublin, Mexico, Shanghai, Amsterdam, Novi Sad... It's not just Jim's production that's been catching peoples ears. The last few months have seen Jim gigging all over the world in some of the best nightclubs. Whether its a beach party in Athens, Pacha in Sao Paulo or a dark sweaty club in Moscow.
His reputation has built steadily since Jim's first release on the respected Saw Recordings in 2006 ('Restore/Future' EP). Releases have followed on seminal labels such as Saved, EQ, Global Underground and Renaissance, and remixes for Nic Fanciulli, Quivver and Gabriel and Dresden have continued to show Rivers' unique techy, glitchy, groovy electronic style and take on house music today.
More recently Jim's 2nd EP for Saw, 'I Go Deep' received critical acclaim in the dance music press and support from across the board by some of the worlds biggest DJ's and taste makers - "Jim Rivers is the man to watch...I am impressed by his ever improving skill" - Satoshi Tomiie.
Jim has also developed a studio partnership with Paolo Mojo, with two tracks already written ('Darkplace' - coming out on Paolo's Oosh imprint and already received several plays on Pete Tong's legendary Radio 1 Essential Selection).
Not being short of energy and ambition, Jim is about to launch his own new label, Misfit Records, allowing him to release his own music the way he wants to, showcasing his different sounds and ideas. The second collaboration with Mojo, 'Ron Hardy Said' is scheduled for release in early '08, after the debut 'Brassed Off/Dallas' before the end of '07. With remixes from Satoshi Tomiie and Pete Heller have already confirmed, expect to ear a lot more of Jim Rivers in 2008.
