D'Julz
'Just So You Know' - incl. 2000 And One remix - Ovum
OUT NOW!
D'Julz returns to Wink's Ovum with 'Just So You Know' - his third release for the label, including a remix from 2000 and One.
In 2007, D'Julz's production schedule picked up the pace with releases on Steve Bug's Poker Flat Recordings, Klang, Poussez, his SUM project with Carl Finlow and a remix for Tom Pooks' 'Trouble' on Ovum.
Into 2008 and, as well as an exclusive release on the new Poker Flat compilation 'Dead Man's Hand' - compiled by Steve Bug, D'Julz releases 'Just So You Know' for Ovum. 'Just So You Know' sees D'Julz's third EP release for Ovum - the first came in 2002 with 'Acid Tricks' and he followed in 2005 with 'Alpha'.
'Just So You Know' original starts heavy and plays it heavy. A 'tap-tap' bass leads the way into a warm and memorable rolling groove, added 'in and out' freaky high-end detail and a kick..The bass mix gives you a deeper, headier mix. And, 2000 and One -whose releases on 100% Pure, Intacto and Remote Area have driven him well into every DJ's box - gives a more subtle, forward pushing take on the original.
DJing since 1992 - and holding down a style that mixes house, deep techno and strong influences of acid funk - D'Julz currently holds a monthly residency at the infamous Rex Club in Paris. With the residency now 10 years strong, D'Julz regularly invites guests including Josh Wink, Steve Bug, Loco Dice and Luciano to play - pushing the Parisian sound forward. Outside of Paris he DJs at Tenax in Florence, Cocoon in Frankfurt, Panorama Bar in Berlin, Back to Basics in Leeds and London's Fabric, amongst many.
