DERRICK CARTER: review from Movement DEMF 2012Sifting through the reviews of DEMF last weekend it seems pretty clear that Derrick Carter was one of the DJs who stepped up to steal the show, or at least claim it as his own. Sidewalk Hustle posted these photos and comments… Derrick Carter took over from an already hot stage after Todd Terje, filling the main stage amphitheatre with lots of house music enthusiasts ready to dance. He started off with a familiar a capella and just started to build from there to eventually drop his dope remix of Azealia Banks’ “212″. Derrick truly is the definition of Chicago house and gave Detroit a lesson in mixing and technique. Derrick is the barometer against which all house DJs should be measured. Problem for those guys and girls is that the majority just don’t even measure up! It had been awhile since we last saw Derrick, but it reminded us what must-see DJ he is. Hear Derrick Carter’s live set at Footwork in Toronto below. Derrick will be playing 2 exclusive sets at the Classic Sonar party in Barcelona on Thursday 14th June. Here’s what happened last time Classic took to the road… For bookings, please contact james@elitemm.co.uk Comments are closed. |
