BLUME, rooted in South America’s electronic music scene, has found a second home in Europe. After five formative years in Amsterdam, she now resides in Berlin, drawn to its raw artistic energy.
In 2019, BLUME established Format Wars, an evolving platform spanning record curation, pop-ups, listening sessions, and forward-thinking music events. As a DJ and producer, her approach is fluid and exploratory, moving between ambient, leftfield electronics, half-time rhythms, and deconstructed club music. Her tracks and sets are shaped less by genre than by texture, tension, and atmosphere, balancing weight and intensity with fragile, ghostly detail.
BLUME’s music flows between eerie ambient, broken rhythms, and the freeform energy of contemporary techno. Weaving brass samples recorded by herself, polyrhythms, glitch textures, jungle influences, and non-linear percussion, she explores tempo and sonic space through an open-ended approach to composition and storytelling.
Heard in clubs like Open Ground, Berghain, Tresor, OHM, RSO, Oxi, and Renate in Berlin, as well as ADE in Amsterdam and the Positive Education festival in Saint Étienne, she also leaves her mark online with appearances on NTS, Rinse FM, and Refuge Worldwide, alongside hosting The Otherness, her bi-monthly radio show on Noods.
Beyond the club, she frequently brings her collection to listening bars such as Kwia and Migas, presenting extended vinyl selections focused on non-linear percussion, abstract ambient, avant-garde jazz, and sound-focused listening experiences.
Alongside her work as a DJ and producer, BLUME continues to shape Format Wars into a multidisciplinary platform spanning curation, releases, and sound-focused artistic practices. Her recent focus explores generative systems, Max for Live devices, and hybrid approaches to composition and performance, reflecting an ongoing interest in sound as both structure and instability.
